General questions
How quickly can you come out?
Often the same or next day, depending on our schedule and your location. Leaks, warm fridges and dead freezers get priority, 24/7. Call for the fastest booking, or send a request online and we'll call you back to confirm a 2-hour arrival window.
Do you charge a service call fee?
Yes, there is a diagnostic fee to send a technician to your home and find the cause of the problem. If you go ahead with the repair, that fee is applied toward the cost of the repair. You'll always get the price before any work starts.
Do you offer a warranty on repairs?
Yes. Our repairs come with a 90-day labor warranty. If the same problem comes back within that time, we come back and fix it with no labor charge.
What brands do you repair?
All major brands, including Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire, Maytag, KitchenAid, Bosch, Kenmore and Electrolux, plus premium brands like Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Thermador and Miele.
Do you repair commercial appliances?
Yes. We service appliances for restaurants, cafés, offices, property managers, laundromats and other businesses. Ask about priority scheduling for commercial accounts.
What areas do you serve?
Lake Oswego, Bethany, Beaverton, Hillsboro and Portland's West Side, plus Tigard, Sherwood, Tualatin and Forest Grove. Not sure if you're in range? Give us a call or send a request and we'll check.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and checks. Payment is due when the repair is complete.
Should I repair or replace my appliance?
A good rule of thumb: if the appliance is less than halfway through its expected lifespan and the repair costs less than 50% of a new one, repair it. Our technicians will give you an honest recommendation, even if that means telling you a repair isn't worth it.
Do I need to be home during the repair?
An adult (18+) needs to be present to let the technician in and approve the repair. Property managers can arrange access for tenant units.
Appliance-specific questions
Is it worth repairing my refrigerator or should I replace it?
If your refrigerator is under about 10–12 years old and the repair costs less than half the price of a comparable new unit, repair is usually the smarter choice. We give you an honest recommendation after diagnosis, before any work begins.
How long can food stay safe in a broken fridge?
Keep the doors closed. A closed refrigerator keeps food safe for about 4 hours, and a full freezer for about 48 hours. Call us as early as possible so we can schedule the soonest available visit.
Why does my front-load washer smell?
Usually from detergent residue and moisture trapped in the door gasket or drain pump filter. We can clean or replace the gasket and filter and show you a simple routine to prevent it coming back.
My washer stopped mid-cycle full of water. What should I do?
Unplug the machine and don't force the door open. Most often it's a clogged drain pump or a failed pump motor, both routine repairs for our technicians.
How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?
At least once a year, more often for large households. If drying times are getting longer, a restricted vent is a likely cause.
Do you repair gas dryers?
Yes. Our technicians repair gas dryers, including igniters, gas valve coils and flame sensors.
Why is there water left in the bottom of my dishwasher?
A small amount is normal. Standing water above the filter usually means a clogged filter, a kinked drain hose or a failing drain pump.
Do you repair Bosch and Miele dishwashers?
Yes. We service European brands including Bosch, Thermador, Miele and Fisher & Paykel, along with all major U.S. brands.
I smell gas near my stove. Should I call you?
Leave the house and call NW Natural or 911 first. Once the utility confirms it's safe, we can diagnose and repair the appliance.
Do you check for gas leaks?
Yes, on every gas range, cooktop and oven we service. It's a quick preventive check of the gas connections. On one call, it caught a small leak on a Bertazzoni range that had likely been there since installation, and the customer had no idea.
Why does my gas burner keep clicking?
Moisture, food debris on the igniter or a failing spark module are the usual causes. It's typically a quick and affordable repair.
Why is my gas oven slow to heat or the flame weak?
On gas ovens around 10 years old, the igniter often weakens before it fails completely. It can still test within spec yet stay too weak to fully open the gas valve, so the oven heats slowly or unevenly. We test the igniter and gas valve together and show you the readings before recommending a replacement.
Why is my freezer frosting up?
Usually a worn door gasket letting in warm air or a failed defrost heater, timer or thermostat. We'll find the cause and fix it.
Do you repair countertop microwaves?
Countertop units are usually cheaper to replace than repair. We focus on over-the-range, built-in and drawer models, where repair makes financial sense.
Why is my ice maker producing small cubes?
Low water pressure, a clogged water filter or a partially frozen fill tube are the usual suspects. Start by replacing the water filter; if that doesn't help, we'll take it from there.
How do I know if you can fix my appliance?
Send a quick request with the brand, model and problem, or just call. We'll tell you upfront whether it's something we service.
How often should I get preventive maintenance?
Once a year works for most homes. If you have pets or a large household, every six months keeps coils, filters and drains from clogging up.
What if you find something that needs repair?
We show you photos and give you a firm quote before any repair. Nothing is done without your approval.
